You can Succeed

Your greatest enemy is those you listen too. Either they will encourage you to succeed, or they will fill your mind with doubts and ridicule your dreams and ideas. The choice is yours at the end of the day, be wise in your choice of friends and those you choose to be mentors in your life. Never be too proud to listen, never be to quick to agree or disagree, believe in your dreams, and remember success is in your thinking.

S.M.A.R.T

What is S.M.A.R.T It is a clever concept that helps you succeed rather than just dream and hope of success it makes us follow through to completion.

  • S for Specific: There are several key factors which should be present in the objectives that are set in order for them to be effective. They should be specific. In other words, they should describe specifically the result that is desired. Instead of "better customer service score," the objective should be "improve the customer service score by 12 points using the customer service survey."
  • M for Measurable: The second example is much more specific and also addresses the second factor—measurable. In order to be able to use the objectives as a part of a review process it should be very clear whether the person met the objective or not.
  • A for Achievable: The next important factor to setting objectives is that they be achievable. For instance, an objective which states "100 percent customer satisfaction" isn't realistically achievable. It's not possible to expect that everyone must be 100 percent satisfied with their service. A goal of "12 percent  improvement in customer satisfaction" is better—but may still not be achievable if it's assigned to the database developer. They aren't likely to have enough influence over the customer interaction process to improve satisfaction by 12 percent.
  • R for Realistic: This leads into the next factor—realistic. Realistic objectives are objectives that recognize factors which can not be controlled. Said another way, realistic goals are potentially challenging but not so challenging that the chance of success is small. They can be accomplished with the tools that the person has at their disposal.
  • T for Time-based: The final factor for a good objective is that it is time-based. In other words, it's not simply, "improve customer service by 12 percent," it's "improve customer service by 12 percent within the next 12 months." This is the final anchor in making the objective real and tangible. The implied date is the date of the next review.

Thomas Alva Edison (February 11, 1847 – October 18, 1931) was an American inventor and businessman. He developed many devices that greatly influenced life around the world, including the phonograph, the motion picture camera, and a long-lasting, practical electric light bulb. Dubbed "The Wizard of Menlo Park", he was one of the first inventors to apply the principles of mass production and large-scale teamwork to the process of invention, and because of that, he is often credited with the creation of the first industrial research laboratory.

Believe it or not;
Thomas Edison did not learn to talk until he was almost four years of age 4
Everyone know's Edison for his perseverance and determination that is unbelievable and makes us all want to try one more time.
 "Thomas Edison" failed more than 1,000 times when trying to create the light bulb". But he did not quit! He turned around to those that may have laughed at him and though he was crazy and said "I have not failed 1000 times trying to creat the light bulb, rather I have found 1000 ways how not to create the light bulb" Eventually Thomas Edison did it he succeeded in creating the light bulb. There are many great creations but what I want you to take from all this is that success is not an overnight thing! You don't wake up one day and success is in your mailbox just sign here, here and there. It all starts in your mind, in your thinking. Think successfully, and eventually you will become successful.
